    Look closely at the situations facing migrants once they arrive in The United States. Learn more about the experience of finding work, securing housing, and attending school.

Indigenous Boarding Schools

  • Session 1

    This session is informed by first-hand accounts and testimonials. Participants will experience an overview of the history as well as student-facing and adult-facing resources for continued learning. Discussion and informational questions are encouraged to inform future sessions.

    Take another look at the basic facts about Indigenous Boarding Schools and dive back in to some of the bigger questions from session 1.

    In this session, participants will also critically examine AI generated resources on this topic, and discuss the nuance behind the use of language as it shifts with lexile and grade level specifications.

  • Session 3

    In our final session, we come back to the information and resources to start planning activities, lessons, and projects that infuse this important history into academic content.

    Participants are encouraged to “think big” and establish long-term plans to reconvene with participants for further collaboration on this and other topics
